VW Campervan Hire for Weddings

vw campervan hire wedding

We’re real fans of VW’s in our household, so this post was an absolute must when I stumbled upon them on Facebook one night! VW Campers are becoming ever more popular among enthusiasts and are starting to make their stamp on many a wedding day as well. Buttercup Bus have even started using them as the ultimate mobile photobooth! We’ve been to quite a few receptions and photobooths go down really well with guests, especially with a few prosecco’s on board! So here’s what Nathalie from Buttercup Bus had to tell us;

Q: You have quite a few VW’s available as wedding cars. How long have you been involved with the wedding industry and what inspired you to become involved?

It all started out about 10 years ago, when we were expecting our first child. My car at the time was a tiny Smart Car, so my Husband advised me to sell it and purchase something more practical for our new family. His jaw hit the floor, when I came back with my first campervan, Pushka. Whilst it was not what he had in mind, I told him that with her cream paintwork and good looks, we could do the odd wedding hire, here and there to fund keeping her running nicely. The campervan turned out to be far more popular than I anticipated, and I really enjoyed doing the weddings – so we saved and purchased additional campervans and set up as a business.

Q: What tips and advice can you give to couples when looking to hire their wedding transport?

Check with the supplier for recent photos of the vehicle – do they personally own all the vehicles, or are they owner by third parties? (We own all our vehicles!) Also, check their social media profiles for real photos of them in action. Ask how the vehicle will be decorated – for example, does it come with any flowers, bunting, soft furnishings and can you choose the ribbon colours to match your theme?

Q: How long in advance would you recommend couples book their wedding car? What about insurances?

Always go with a proper wedding transport company that have the specialist wedding transport vehicle and public liability insurance in place. Most of our wedding couples book their campervans between 12 to 18 months in advance of their wedding so that they get the vehicle colour of their choice.

Q:There is quite a bit of competition when it comes to wedding car hire. What can couples expect when the book their VW beetle wedding car or camper van with you?

Having 10 years experience, we know how to plan timings and routes with the correct contingencies in place. We also have multiple campervans and drivers in place as back up. We are familiar with many of the venues in our area of coverage, so understand how to best position the campervan for post ceremony photos. Our wedding transport business is a passion as well as a business, and we enjoy taking the time to clean and decorate the campers with little details to make the day extra special. We have pretty umbrellas, can offer personalised bunting and have bespoke flower garlands made specially to decorate our campervans.

Q: Which is YOUR most favourite wedding car/ van that you offer and why?

Ha ha – I am the campervans’ Mum. I talk to them, and tuck them up at night in their special blankets. I could not possibly choose a favourite, or the others would get upset with me!

Q: What is your biggest achievement to date? (It doesn’t have to be wedding related).

Alongside our wedding car services, we also offer campervan photobooth hire. This year we invested in upgrading our technology to include greenscreen. These photosbooths have enabled our campervans to be enjoyed at a much wider range of events to include private parties, corporate hospitality and promotional events. It led to us winning awards, to include “Most Innovative Photo Booth Hire Company” and “Best Media and Creative Business” in the last couple of years.

Wedding Planner or Not? That is the Question.

Happy New Year to one and all! All the festivities are over and the Christmas decorations are down, normal life can resume once again! It’s quite apt that we kick off the New Year on our wedding blog on the topic of wedding planning. I spend a lot of time on Facebook groups and soon, and a question that I see getting asked quite a lot is; “Is it really worth getting a wedding planner?”

On a personal note, we didn’t have a wedding planner, in hindsight, I wished we had to be honest. We didn’t realise how much we were both consumed by the whole planning and preparation of our own wedding until it was over, it was almost insidious. So today I have the pleasure of introducing a lovely lady we had the fortune to meet at The Bristol & Somerset Wedding Awards, Haley of Forever and Always.

Q: Tell us a little bit about Forever and Always. How did it start and how long you’ve been going for?

A: Forever and Always was created after I fell in love with planning my own wedding nearly 6 years ago. After training as a wedding planner for nearly a year, Forever and Always was born and has been trading around 3 years now.

Q: What would you say is the biggest advantages of hiring a wedding planner?

A: The biggest advantage of the hiring a wedding planner is having someone there on hand to guide and support you through the planning of your big day! It’s nice to be able to lean on someone other than a friend or family member!

Q: Some Brides think that a having a Wedding Planner is expensive. Is this the case?

A: That really is not the case at all, and that is the first thing I always let couples know. I believe having a wedding planner should be very much built in to any wedding plan or budget. I tailor my services to each couple and happy to offer payment plans. Also in the long time I believe I can save my couples money as I work with recommended suppliers who often offer discounts and I can then pass this on to my couples.

Q: What can Brides expect when they come to Forever and Always to help with their plans?

A: They can expect a personalised service, with attention to detail. Above all a professional service and someone that is caring and has that best interests at heart.

Q: What advice do you have for Brides for their planning journey &/or their wedding day?

A: The best advice a can offer any bride or couple when planning their wedding day is don’t stress enjoy every minute of the planning, it’s not meant to be a chore it’s meant to be fun. My number one tip I always say to my couples is once a decision has been made, tick it of the list and move on to the next thing! Don’t dwell on decisions that have already been made.

Q: What’s been your biggest achievement to date? (Doesn’t have to be wedding related).

A: I have two biggest achievements to date one is my wonderful family I have, and I’m lucky to have such a supportive and caring husband and two gorgeous daughters.

My other achievement is winner “Wedding Planner” of the year 2017 for Bristol & Somerset. I was very proud and honoured I to collect this award back in February, this award shows the love and thanks from every couple I worked with last year.

Q: What does the future hold for Forever and Always?

A: I have a few things in the pipeline that I hope to be able to share soon, but my plan is to hopefully grow the business and continue to offer a top service to all my clients.

So if you’re still undecided whether to involve a wedding planner in your wedding preparations and wedding day, then, at the very least get in touch with Haley at Forever & Always. She won an award for a reason and we wish her all the very best at the 2018 Bristol & Somerset Wedding Awards!

Royce Lingerie Specialist.

October is such a special month,  we all join together to help raise money to beat cancer!

I thought I would take this opportunity to write a short blog post about our non wired, mastectomy bras supplier, Royce Lingerie who will be donating £1 from every bra  they sell throughout the whole of October.

Royce are world leaders when it comes to non wired bras. They have been specialising and producing wire free since the early 90s. Royce have designed a truly outstanding mastectomy bra that is innovative in style, superbly comfortable and containing X-Static silver fibre to aid the healing process.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners Jane Fleming, when I attended their in house advance training program and factory tour.

This was such a wonderful experience, being able to meet, measure and fit some truly remarkable ladies who had undergone mastectomy surgery (single or double!).

The ladies told us of there experiences and later allowed us to measure and fit them in lingerie from the amazing range that Royce offer.

Royce are very dedicated to what the do and helping ladies who require non wired bras in all areas, not just mastectomy. They have utilized the technologies and designers they have to create a teen bra collection which feature sizes 28AA- 36D, a beautiful non wired collection in a full range of sizes and a maternity collection which range up to a 40K!

If you’re a Bride to Be and soon to be wed and just don’t know where to start when it comes to what to wear beneath your wedding dress, then this might just be of some help. We find many Brides leave finding their wedding underwear to the last minute, either they’ve been losing weight before the big day or they think it will simply be a case of popping into town to pick something up. Unfortunately this tends not to be as straight forward as they imagine.

A wedding dress is a really special dress not just by its very nature but by its design and fit as well, so quite often requires some special lingerie for your wedding day. This is really why it shouldn’t be left to the last minute and taken for granted that it will be an easy task. So where do you start when looking for your bridal underwear? Whatever you decide upon, it’s important that it works in complete harmony with you and your wedding gown.

If your dress already has a lot of boning throughout the bodice then a wedding corset with plenty of boning is more than likely going cause some discomfort. Resist the temptation when you hear a corset can take up to 4″ off your waistline in seconds. Properly fitted they can, but the 4″ has to go somewhere! A wedding corset is very good at helping to shape and sculpt your figure to a more hourglass silhouette and providing support over your midriff. Some bridal corsets also have underwired cups and also give good lift, support and shape to your bust too!

Many wedding dresses have sweetheart or bateau necklines and therefore require a style of strapless wedding lingerie to go beneath. This is where it begins to get more tricky and even more so if your size tends to be less well stocked in high street shops, so a bit more time and patience is called for. A strapless wedding bustier could work well for this style, it would still provide some shaping to your figure as well as underwired support for your breasts.

It’s important to get fitted and go and try on bridal bras, you want to make sure it doesn’t give you a bulge over the top of the cup or alternatively that the cups don’t fall forward when you lean over, leaving you feeling unsupported and exposed! A dress that is made from a light material, such as silk or satin may also show any fancy lace edging or a heavily padded cup will be quite noticeable. Your wedding day lingerie should be the unsung hero of your wedding day, comfy and supportive and not seen by your guests and photographer!

Comfort has already been mentioned a few times, because it’s important. Your wedding day does pass by quickly but comfort really is king, so bear this in mind when it comes to your undies. If you’re not a thong kind of person then your wedding day is not the day to try. You don’t want to be fidgeting and shuffling all through your day trying to get comfortable, stick to briefs or hip huggers if that’s what you’re used too! You can get underwear that don’t have elasticated edges so don’t show the dreaded VPL!

Shapewear is quite a popular option these days with brides wanting to make sure that everything is tucked in to look their best in the wedding photographs. Bridal shapewear has evolved quite markedly over the years with some nice pieces available in whites and ivories to suit dress colours. When it comes to colours, try and make sure that you get bridal underwear that matches the colour of your dress. Most important of all is to try your wedding day lingerie on with your dress at some point to make sure they compliment each other and you’re comfortable!
