Wedding Day Photography

Finally we caught up with a fabulous Wedding Photographer we had the pleasure of discovering from one of our Real Brides Features from last year. We spoke to Hayley Scott Photography and asked what couples should be thinking about when it comes to choosing a wedding day photographer for their special day.

Well that’s it for another wedding chat round up. Hope enjoyed what we brought you and look forward to helping you along with your wedding planning journey!

We all know that weddings can quickly become very expensive and the decision to include children can add to the price. Having made that decision you would be well advised to have something to keep them occupied. Wedding ceremonies, speeches and such can be quite lengthy meaning little ones become impatient, fidgety and bored, so before disruption ensues it’s a good idea to have something for them to do. So today we introduce Jade from Astbury Darlings with a possible solution!

Q: How long has Astbury Darlings been going? & What made you start?

We are a new company based in Congleton Cheshire and we have been up and running since October. We decided to start as I wanted a new work career since having my third child in May. I have always worked in childcare and with having three children of my own I have a pretty good idea of what children enjoy playing with and exploring. So I felt confident in starting a new business which focuses on entertaining children and encouraging play and fun!

Q: Quite a few people struggle to keep children (& adults) occupied at an all day wedding event. How popular is your soft play & bouncy castle hire for weddings?

So far the soft play and bouncy castle has been very popular at all events including weddings because the equipment keeps the children entertained at weddings for a long period of time. We have had comments such as “The children could have kept playing for hours longer” when we have collected equipment. The children love to explore the variety of equipment we provide and the ball pit is always a hit for hours of fun! The equipment is so versatile we can tailor packages to suit any size, space and venue indoors at a hotel or home for example or outdoors in a garden or under/outside a marquee.

Q: Bride & Groom are obviously busy on their Wedding Day. What can they expect from Astbury Darlings when they book with you?

If we are booked for a wedding we discuss prior to the wedding day the package, its contents, size and the space in which it is for indoors or outdoors at the venue. Then on the wedding day we arrive in plenty of time to set up the equipment, before the guests arrive at the venue so it is all set and ready for the children to explore! The bride and groom need not worry about a thing, we take care of the set up and removal efficiently.

Q: What advice can you give to our Brides to Be when it comes to their Wedding Day? (It can be anything).

My advice for Brides to Be is to plan, plan, plan before hand so you can enjoy and relax and let everyone run around for you on your special day! Enjoy every second of your Wedding Day.

Q: What’s your biggest achievement to date? (Doesn’t have to be wedding related).

Our biggest achievement is getting our new business off to a very busy start and having fantastic feed back from parents and guests after each time we hire out our equipment of how the children have had a fantastic time and enjoyed all of the equipment provided. Such positive feedback is amazing.

Q: What does 2016 have in store for Astbury Darlings?

Astbury Darlings has a busy 2016 ahead we will be adding to our equipment collection and as the diary continues to fill we will be providing lots of fantastic fun equipment to keep lots of children entertained at all of events!

With packages starting from the £50 – £60 mark it’s a great way to keep children occupied for long periods of time, and to be honest I’ve been to weddings with a bouncy castle and it kept most of the grown ups occupied as well! So to find out more from Jade about Astbury Darlings or get in touch, their details and social media links are below.

Well Happy New Year to all of our Brides to Be and especially all of you were lucky enough to get proposed to over the Festive period! It’s time for a quick roundup of all things wedding that’s been going on at the Moonrise Wedding Blog over the past week or so. You may have noticed the slight facelift it’s had recently, we hope you like?

Anyway, we thought it would be appropriate as there were so many proposals over the holidays to kick our wedding blog off in 2016 by looking at wedding planning. So we took a trial of WeddingTour by Gabriella Wood. A FREE online wedding planning tool that helps monitor your budget, guest list and much more.

Finally we rounded of the week, with a quick look at; probably not the most romantic side but rather more practical aspect of bridal lingerie, shapewear to go beneath your wedding dress.

We looked at the difference between wedding shapewear and bridal lingerie such as corsets and bustiers as well as what to consider when choosing which style of wedding shapewear to go beneath your wedding dress. – ‘Wedding Shapewear to go Beneath Your Bridal Gown‘.

That’s it for this week, we hope your wedding planning is going well and you find our wedding posts and features inspiring.

Today on the Moonrise Wedding Blog I’d like to introduce a very talented young lady by the name of Georgina Heydon, a Professional Musician with an amazing 15 years experience in music. Performing the piano, vocals and cello and travelling UK wide she provides a wonderful playlist for wedding venues. We caught up with Georgina to find out more about her background and why weddings?

Q: Tell us a little bit about your wedding entertainment, how long you’ve been doing it and why you started.

I started playing the cello and piano when I was fourteen. I went on to study a BA Hons Degree Music and Music performance at Liverpool University. I then did my PGCE certificate so I could teach music at secondary schools. I have performed in the Liverpool Symphony orchestra, various quartets and I loved to sing whenever the opportunities arise.

I became a music teacher which I love as I enjoy helping others. Part of my teaching job is to be able to play anything, to be able to play a variety of instruments and perform on a regular basis.

I started performing at weddings for friends and I loved it. I am extremely passionate about my music and I love performing. Music is so vital to get right. It sets the mood, shows emotion and creates atmosphere.

I began performing wedding music as I love to perform. You always get a great buzz when you do a perfect performance. As I have lots of experience in playing anything through my teaching job I like to use this skill with weddings. I enjoy working closely with brides to make sure they have everything just right.

I offer my brides a service where I can play the piano, I can sing and play the piano and I can play the cello. This has proven to be a success as brides can choose for example to have piano and cello at their ceremony. Piano and singing during pre-dinner drinks. Piano during the wedding breakfast and wait for it!!!! Pianoke before the evening discos where guests can sing along to my piano playing.

Q: What inspires you when playing/ singing at someone’s Wedding?

My own wedding has helped to inspire me when I am playing/singing at someones wedding. From my own experience I know how important your big day is and that it is vital that I do my very best for each of my brides.

One of the pieces I love to perform is a song called ‘Songbird’. I walked down the aisle to this piece on my wedding day. I love to sing this piece as I love to bring the lyrics alive and show the emotion through my voice. The words in this piece are so personal to me which is why I love performing it.

Q: What should Brides to Be thinking about when it comes to entertainment for their Wedding?

Music is so personal and a song can hold so much emotion. Choose your special piece together with your Husband to Be so that particular song/piece will have wonderful memories for both of you, which you will reflect on everytime you hear that piece in your married life.

Music creates atmosphere and mood. Think about what mood you want to create. The piano playing a variety of styles of music to suit all different ages sounds lovely whilst people are talking and eating. If you want something a bit louder singing and piano is great whilst people are moving in and out of the venue to have photographs.

Q: What can Brides expect from Georgina Heydon when they come to her for Wedding Day Entertainment?

All my brides know I am extremely passionate about music and that I care. I want to do my very best for each of my brides. I will always perform song requests and I also like for my brides to hear their special piece before their big day. I work closely with my brides to ensure everything is perfect. I offer a service where I can bring my piano with me if there isn’t one at the venue. Every wedding is unique and every brides needs are different. I ensure I listen to all my brides and I ensure I do my very best to help make their day special.

Q: What’s your favourite song/ type of music to play at Weddings and why?

I love playing all my instruments and I really can’t choose. The cello is such a romantic instrument. I love playing the piano as I enjoy playing in different styles of music. When I sing I feel so much emotion and passion. I love performing all music and I am so lucky to be able to teach and perform music for a living. It’s such a fun job.

Q: What’s your biggest achievement to date? (Doesn’t have to be wedding related)

My best achievement to date are my two beautiful children. Family means everything to me. My daughter is six and she is musical. I am teaching her the cello at the moment but she keeps telling me when she grows up she is going to be a professional singer like me. She has however pointed out that she will be doing all the singing as I can do the piano lol. My son wants to write video games!

What a wonderful choice for your wedding music throughout your ceremony and reception. If you want to find out more about Georgina or get in touch with her then her website and social media details are just below. (Don’t forget to tell her that you read about her on The Moonrise Wedding Blog! lol xx).
