It’s been a while since we’ve had the pleasure of congratulating a recently married couple. Our heartfelt congratulations go out to Claire & Matt on their gorgeous Wedding Day. A black, red and white themed wedding with a fabulous 1950′s retro/ polka dot theme to complete their wonderful look!

Q: Tell us about the proposal or tell us a little bit about how you met.

We met 9 years ago through mutual friends that unbeknown to us, were setting us up. We went to a modifier car show and realised walking around  we had so much in common.

Q: When & where did you get married?

We got married on Friday 18th September 2015 at The Wood Norton, Evesham.

Q: What style of dress did you choose & why? Where did you get it from?

My dress was a lace fishtail ,Julian and Adam, Gwen dress. I instantly fell in love with the black belt with the bow. Everything I tried on after I just wanted to put a black belt with. I brought my dress from Berketex.

Q: What colour/ theme did you choose for your wedding day?

We choose black, red and white for our theme but we wanted to also have a 50s retro/ polka dot theme throughout. We couldn’t imagine long bridesmaid dresses and I’m such a fan of 1950s swing dresses so there was no second thoughts when we found the bridesmaids polka dot dresses.

Q: What did you decide upon for your reception?

For our reception arrival drinks we had prosecco, retro popcorn cups and pretzels. Then we had a lovely 3 course meal before the evening party of a live band, (Black & Gold), photo booth and then we had sparklers and fireworks :) .

Q: Do you have any hints or tips that you would pass on to brides that are planning their own wedding? (anything that you wouldn’t bother doing if you had to do it again, or anything that you definitely would recommend doing).

My best advice for brides to be is enjoy the planning and run up to the wedding as it can be stressful but once you reach the day, you realise the most important thing is you’re marrying the man of your dreams. Also don’t be afraid to ask for help as people like to help.

Q: Did you have an absolute bargain buy, and what was it?

My bargain was my wedding dress :) , when I first tried it on before we set our date, it was £1800 and completely money wise out of reach. But then I went to the national wedding show once we had set the date and saw my dress there which was being discontinued and had been reduced to £850. I was an emotional wreck and couldn’t wait to buy it there. Also I received £150 voucher off alternations as I brought it from the show. Two weeks later they re-launched my dress after demand and it went back up to £1400. I was so lucky to get my dream dress that much cheaper.

Q: What was your most favourite part of the day?

My favourite part of the day was walking up the aisle with my Grandad and seeing Matts face as he turned around. Our ceremony was so laid back and fun, everyone got involved which is exactly what we wanted.

Q: What advice would you pass on to brides for their actual wedding day itself?

For brides on the day, just enjoy every second and take it all in as it goes so quick. I found having a little bag under the top table with essentials items in like lipstick, perfume, safety pins (just incase) etc and I used it loads.

Thank you once again to Claire & Matt for sharing their amazing day with us, if only every Bride to Be had such a fortunate wedding dress story to tell! A wonderful day with stunning photography throughout the day from Paul Willetts Photography. We wish you both the very best of luck and a long and happy marriage together!
